No one can tell you that. I would think there would not be much of a discount because that is Christmas party season. You need to check with the venues that you have in mind.
Oh….are you sure you want your wedding 2 days before Christmas? I would totally rethink that idea unless all of your guests are local.

You may not get a discount at all. And you may even have a hard time finding a venue. December 23 is just two days before Christmas. Many venues will be closed and their staff will be on holiday.
Due to her husbands schedule in the Air Force, my sister got married two days after Christmas. It was a lovely wedding at the most excellent hotel in town. Pictures by the giant tree in the hotel lobby. But there was no discount.

Depends on where you live and what kind of hall you are reserving. Talk to multiple wedding planners or specialists in your area to get an idea.

Avis is right, I’m not sure where you got the impression that December is the slowest time of the year but really it’s not. Sure it slows down the week before christmas but overall it’s just as busy as during the summer. Banquet halls don’t only hold weddings. There’s also baby showers, bridal showers, sweet sixteens, graduation parties, proms, holiday parties, sports banquets, boy scout awards etc. And yes weddings aren’t huge in december but holiday parties are and companies often go to the same place every year (booking just before or after that years party) so december gets filled up actually quite fast. January, February, and the beginning of March are the slowest. It usually picks up after Easter
As far as discounts go that is up to your venue. There is no *should* and actually I’m wondering if they may charge a bit more it being the day before christmas eve and all. Don’t quote me on that but I really wouldn’t be surprised at all if they did. Really no one here can give a concrete answer it’s all up to the venue, but it’s also up to you whether you go with that place or not.

Agree with Avis’s answer and BTW December 23rd happens to be my birthday and anytime we celebrate my birthday at venues it’s usually booked if we don’t call and reserve in advance because of Christmas events going on. You should call and ask around and compare prices though.

Depends on where you live. In my area, January is the slowest time. It’s pretty difficult to find a place in December because of all the parties and christmas time weddings. In any case, you can get up to about 30% off for booking during the slow season unless you are in a resort area, where you can sometimes get 50% off.

You’re not qualified to a discount. You will need to discuss with the venue what their pricing is for weekdays during the off-season. They may have significant discounts, they may not.

Don’t know where you got the impression that the month of December was "the slowest time of the year for a reception." January, February, and March yes BUT December is a busy month for banquet halls, meeting halls, community halls, and ballrooms due to corporate holiday parites and family gatherings.
You may be able to get a 10% discount because it is a Friday evening BUT anything beyond that is doubtful.
