A company that offers a senior discount actually charged my bf full price for their services because he isn’t employed. Can they legally do that?
This isn’t a joke.
The company found out he was unemployed because he applied for a job with them.

If your boyfriend is a senior citizen by the policy of the business, as in meeting the age requirements, he should receive the discount. The hard part in this case is proving why he did not receive the discount and deciding if it is really worth the trouble. They cannot legally change a rulke due to someone being unemployed, but they can find other reasons to validate their position.

Wow. If your bf is a senior, the company should have honored the discount. If you live in a city with a television reporter who investigates consumer complaints, you should call. Also, go to the Better Business Bureau.

Advertised discounts (and others) have lots of fine print. Generally, discounts can be discontinued at any time, for any reason. You should read/investigate before you pursue any allegations of discrimination.

They denied the discount because he ISN’T employed? That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a long time….well; maybe not considering what is posted here, but – how did they know he was unemployed?
Legally they can set up their own rules unless it is discriminatory. This sounds like a serious case of stupid.

????
How would they know that? I wonder if they required him to disclose personal information before he was elligle? I would look into the allegation a little closer. And anyway since you didn’t give many details how is anyone here supposed to answer your question…make something up?
